#5 GENDER SYEREOTYPES: Family model in modern TV changes

According to an in-depth analysis, gender roles and the ideal family model has gone through a major shift over the years. Previously, a patriarchal marriage was the ideal family model in television. The husband financially provided for the family was considered the leader and had more of an assertive personality. Nowadays, a partnership between a man and a woman is now shown throughout television shows. However, some shows still use traditional gender roles because it's easier to communicate their message to the audience. Introducing a new family unit is more challenging. This study believes modern-day feminism has helped make this shift in tv shows and assist in closing the gap between both genders.
