#6 GENDER STEREOTYPES - Stereotyping in the movie Grease

In the movie Grease, gender stereotypes are portrayed in multiple scenes throughout the film. In particular, Sandy changes her entire appearance and personality in order to get Danny's full attention. She wears makeup, high heels and tight clothing which ends up increasing her appeal to Danny at the end of the film. By her doing this, it shows that in order to get a mans attention, women need to make themselves sexually desirable. The film also uses the objectification of the female characters for humor throughout the film. Also, Danny lies about having sex with Sandy to his friends to gain their approval as a man.
